Jiya was old enough to be left alone for a long enough time that he didn’t need to worry about her. Plus, she was generally a good pup. His niece had done well in raising her in the few weeks that she was alive. It still wasn’t sure what Jiya's idiot father had done or where he was. but if Aranck ever got his paws on that man, it would not be pretty.

But he was determined to enjoy his excursion to who knows where. He had no particular destination in mind but he wasn’t planning on going too far. He didn’t really want to leave his grandniece alone for too long. He didn’t trust her that much. Plus, he would worry about her to no end. So he leaned slightly against his walking stick. The weather was getting warmer which definitely helped his bones and joints.

But he didn’t even leave his borders when he saw a young person lying on the ground. His priest training kicked in and he shuffled over to them, fearing the worst. He got closer and didn’t see any noticeable injuries. "Are you alright, young one?" He couldn’t say if it was a girl or a boy.
