More ambiguously worded answers about his origins finally convinced Jaden that Pendzez must really just have nothing to say about it. That was fine. No doubt he could learn the other’s past in time just as he would Jaden’s if he only asked. He had a trust for Pendzez that was difficult to describe. Something about the older, odd mannered man seemed trustable. Gut feelings were something the Obsidian man often experienced and it was one of these that had assured him Pendzez meant well. X’yrin liked him too. He was doing good for himself in Sangilak so far.

His trust wasn’t frayed when the other male swung his staff inches from Jaden’s wet nose. He didn’t even flinch, instead looking down at the end of the staff with a bit of confusion. The rings jingled finely with the motion and his blue eyes were able to analyze the tastefully decorated metal and wood in fine detail. He couldn’t help but pull his head back a bit when the cool tool bumped the end of his nose before being retracted. He reached up and rubbed his muzzle even though it hadn’t caused him any discomfort. No… he shook his head slightly before finally grinning at the other’s joke, Nope, I’m fine. It’s just for decoration then. His words were more of a statement than a question. He couldn’t think of any other reason why someone would carry such a tool. Pendzez didn’t seem to have a limp or otherwise need for the stability it offered.

But the ever present interest in his odd markings finally got the better of him. He gazed at the star shaped inking as an indication as to what he was speaking of. And your markings? Are those decoration as well? He smiled in an innocent way, hoping his question would not offend.
