Liam's obvious anger at Kai's attitude and words only made his smirk broaden over his features. Kai knew this male wanted to return to his mate, to welcome their pups into the world with her. Kai would be the same in his position. The black male kept a close eye on the soon-to-be father, watching for any signs of a possible attack but his attention soon landed upon this other male. Kai looked him up and down briefly and snorted a little as he bared his fangs. Kai was still a relative new-comer in the pack but was aleady making a reputation for himself as something of a trouble-maker. As Venom hissed his warning, Kai's smirk darkened just a little, and slowly but surely, the black male bowed his head to Venom in something of submission, as if he was waving a white flag. But his eyes continued to hold mischief. "Hey, no need to swear, Amigo, he's the one who got all aggressive."
Kai could only watch with amusement as Venom tried to calm Liam down by touching him, only to have the expectant father land a serious blow to his face. Kai instantly had to hold back an amused laugh as suddenly the two males began swinging for each other. Kai's eyes shifted from the action of the prize fighters, and with a slight movement, he was able to peer back into Ayasha's den. Kai could hear the sounds of the newborn pups as they squealed and knew they had been delivered safe and well. Taking the chance to poke his head into the den a little, Kai's eyes fell upon the two hungry pups and his smirk turned instantly from smug and mischevious to warm and considerate. Two new beautiful lives had been brought into the world. It was then he caught a glimpse of a third, though this one didn't move or call for it's mother, it's dark fur still as it lay. Malakai's heart fell a little - he knew it was commonplace, but none the less, a sad time.
He had never been around newborns before, and they were so utterly fascinating to him, he could barely take his eyes away from them. Kai knew that the female's mate would be allowed to enter now that the labour was over with, and despite his previous attempts to annoy Liam, now Kai glanced over to the fighting pair and barked a little, as if trying to get their attention. He was a father. Kai took a step back from the mouth of the den and his whole body lowered into a lying position, like a guard dog. "Hey, Tough Guy!" If they stopped their punching, they would be able to hear the pups' yelping and screeching, letting Liam know that his litter had arrived. Kai jerked his head to the side, motioning towards the den. "Don't you have someplace to be?" He meant inside his den with his mate and pups, now that they had been born.
