[WC: 367 || Pts: 3]Axelle watched as Mido held the bow’s string – his arm was a little shaky, and he might need to work on his arm muscles. She watched him let the arrow soar all the way through a brown hare’s hind legs. The creature struggled on the ground trying to get away, but it wasn’t able to go anywhere as it was connected with the earth. Axelle slapped Mido on the back in a ‘job well done’ kind of thing, and then jumped down from the tree. He was seemingly happy, and she had no doubt that he would follow to look at his trophy.
She approached the struggling rabbit, and had the urge to let it go. She hated seeing things suffer, especially cute little rodents. ”Well done, Mido! Your aim will get better with practice.” She pulled the arrow out of the creature’s legs the opposite way, careful to try not to cause it anymore pain than it already was in. There was no reason any innocent animal had to suffer, unless it was lunch. Axelle held the rabbit up to Mido by the ears. ”Take it if you’re going to do anything useful with it; if not, let it go.” She handed him the rabbit by the ears, and it struggled with what body parts it could still move. It’s hind legs were limp probably due to broken bones and torn muscles. ”Better off eating it or making it your new pet. I doubt it will ever be able to walk again.” She looked back over her shoulder as she looked around for anything else that could come of use. There was nothing but scattered collected food and the bloody arrow in her hand. All the other rabbits scurried into their hiding places, and she had no idea where those were located. Just as well.
She handed him the other arrow, and motioned him to follow her again. ”Let’s walk back to the caves.” She led the way, leaving him to decide whether to leave the rabbit or take it, and giving him a minute to decide what to do with it. Axelle walked up ahead, knowing that Mido would catch up to her in time.
