It was immediately clear that when Saul came to a stop in front of the tawny male that bright yellow eyes were intent on him, observing, perhaps judging, Saul wasn't sure. It was a natural reaction and Saul allowed the scrutiny to wash over him harmlessly. It was sometimes easy to forget that others were just as curious and would look all they wished. It wasn't considered rude and Saul allowed it with the slightest raising of his head. He noted the males drop of tail and was pleased to see that it didn't snake between his hind legs- fear was not something Saul often dealt with and it was almost never directed at him. Green eyes were intent on the males face and they caught the soft half smile that the tawny male gave before he gave an answer to Saul's own identity.
A pleasure, Vicare. He murmured, tail giving a soft wag once behind him. He didn't think he could detect an accent in the mans words, but there was perhaps something about the way he held himself that told Saul he wasn't from around here. He couldn't place it however and would wait his turn to ask another question from the male. His first question was answered and Saul nodded softly- he'd learnt long ago to recognise the long call of a loner seeking a home, it was manners that caused him to ask the question each time he approached the borders. He nodded softly, an acceptance of his words without a verbal reassurance.
I have a few questions for you, before I can accept you into our ranks. He said, his tone still friendly and confident. He had been through this process so many times it was second nature to him. Where have you come from? Where are your family? He asked, the questions hinting at a larger, unspoken question. 'Why are you here' would most definitely have been taken as a rude question and Saul was never one to be rude. So instead, he allowed the more general questions to hopefully lead into an answer that would hopefully satisfy all these questions.
