His face was warm underneath her fingers, a feverish heat as much from flustered happiness as arousal. Hotaru’s frown transformed into a smile as her hand fell on his face and messy hair, and the man wanted to bury his face against her neck and just hold her. Instead, he smiled affectionately against her palm then adjusted them both to get on with the act—daring to hope that she could and would want to explore his face more later.
The timber she-wolf settled down on his lap, and the result was instantaneous, bringing a breathless whimper of relief and pleasure from his lips. The kiss to his cheek almost went unnoticed as he pushed her hip up and down, letting her control the rhythm although he’d be glad to take over if she just wanted to lay back and relax. The thought brought a crooked grin to his mouth, which he pressed against her throat, his tongue sweeping along the bloodpulse there. His heart beat an excited counterpoint to hers, and it was in the space between that he rocked his hips up into her.
Already the heat in his loins crackled into life throughout the rest of his body, sending him blissfully high. More barely-intelligible whispers left him, rumbling from his cream chest to hers, punctuated by soft gasps.
About the only understandable word was her name, Hotaru Hotaru Hotaru, whispered like a dying man’s prayer.
