What reason did he have to question her? It came slowly enough to allow his ignorant words to hurt the woman but he realized it with her words. She had always come through when he needed her to. Not once had she failed him in any aspect. So why now did he truly fear she would leave him when they had built so much together? The pack was just settling in and if she left it would be detrimental. She knew it and he knew that would keep her here even if nothing else did.

The towering male stepped forward into his beloved companion and wrapped his arms around her shoulders so as not to entangle himself in her delicate cape.
