He also understood that, while they were very close, there was a lot they hadn’t shared. Where he had no information about her past she was similarly ignorant to his. Maybe such information should have been shared between them already but it hadn’t. To her meek smile he offered one of his own as they separated, Perhaps it is… There wasn’t much more he could do but clarify.
