The wind whipped through her short fur, each muscle contorting and expanding in perfect harmony. Soft paws and sharp claws barley touched the ground as she flew through the mountainous forest. Kiara was like a white blur, racing and diving through the trees. Birds called out as the predator passed underneath them and prey animals panicked as they dove out of her way. Even so, the white wolf made no noise. Her eyes were fierce with concentration, but a fiery passion burned behind them. With every step, the tension and anxiety that had been building up in Kiara's muscles slowly abated until she felt as free as a bird and as light as a feather.
Kiara had no real purpose to her run. Ever since joining the pack, the pressing need for food had dwindled. Even so, she had woken up that morning and just needed to move. Kiara had left early in the morning and had run almost non-stop for several hours. The extra exercise felt wonderful and helped to relieve her emotional turmoil. Loosing her only son had been a huge mental blow to the young mother and it was a wound that would not heal quickly.
At last, Kiara slowed to an easy lope. She had reached the Southwestern boarders of where Ichika once stood. The white wolf skirted the boarders, heading father south towards Inferni and the Sugar woods. Along the way, Kiara gobbled up a few field mice that were unlucky enough to cross her path. The day had started out warm and with the sun high in the sky had turned into a hot day. The arctic female turned her head to the sky and squinted at the unforgiving sun, hating its heat. It sucked her energy and made her body feel like a ton of bricks. Giving into the heat of summer, Kiara settled herself between the roots of a large tree. Its outstretched arms offered plenty of shade, a cool relief to the polar wolf. With her giant head lying lethargically across her paws, Kiara allowed her mind to wander into a pleasant daydream.
