Living in shadows, Fading existence, It was never good enough
She fingered her dagger for a moment as she saw discomfort in the other leader's eyes; was that disdain? She subconsciously lifted an eyebrow before composing herself. She knew that New Dawn was a pack of the old ways of wolves, who shunned their human side; she saw no reason for them to do this. To her, ignoring the gift that the humans had given them was like ignoring a fat deer in the harshest of summers - to her, no mere tradition was more important than helping her pack survive in the world of the Luperci, where hands could manipulate beautiful and wonderful things, and in exchange forge friendships and alliances with others, ensuring survival.
Despite the discomfort that the merchant, trained in the arts of reading others, could practically smell on his person, she ignored his emotion and focused on his words instead. It was true; he was the alpha of New Dawn, along with Titania, she supposed - this was the man that Titania had left d'Arte for. And he came for the skills of her d'Artisans, skills that she had no doubt his members lacked.
"Oh?" she said. "What use might be my d'Artisans' skills to you?" she asked, curiosity lacing her voice. She was aware that his pack led the life of an average wolf, with little hint of human ways in its culture - when Lupus was the encouraged form, she wondered what good anything made from human-like hands would be.
