Neela ish stinky. 15th Just before the Ball

The fort was busy with the hustle and bustle of one pack preparing for a feast and another wandering around, exploring a new place. Through all the noise one could hear, if they knew the voice and were listening for it, the sound of faint Spanish singing coming from the river besides a small house to the back of the fort.

Neela's life the past few weeks had been a whirlwind of change and unexpected events but one more recent event was showing itself as a very pleasant turn in what had been an unpleasant life lately.

Tony had proposed to her, asked her to be his mate. All the bad things that had happened to her recently, all the little niggling misgivings she still held, they all seemed to be swept away in a haze of happiness. Even right before the feast Neela's mind was barely focused on the event itself, her body running through the motions of getting ready while her mind was embroiled in other matters.

At the moment the collie could be found bathing in the river behind her house, trying to wash out the dirt, oil, salt and smells of such that could usually be found clinging to her fur as a result of working on a boat so much. It was a losing battle for the most part but Neela's usual methods of rolling in some strong smelling flowers wouldn’t quite cut it for such a formal event; the collie had been at it for nearly an hour before she got to her current state of smelling somewhat presentable.

The collie's world was still far from untroubled but between the happy news and the enjoyment the water loving dog got from splashing about in the river she could put her troubles behind her for a while, instead casting her mind to her current task, her love and the night ahead.
