He was opening up to her a little more and it made her feel less guilty about having him acompany her. She wouldn't’ have found a house if he didn’t persuade her. Though she didn’t need a big push at all. He seemed to misinterpret her words of her first change, but she did not really care to correct him. At least he had the reaction she wanted to have and she smiled as he spoke wishing to remember his first shift. She knew it had lost the magic after changing so often.
“Have you ever tried climbing onto your roof? Even in a clearing like this if you lay somewhere outside you can see the vast universe. It’s absolutely amazing!”
“It is, they are very rare and sometimes hard to see, but when the moon is hidden and the stars shine their brightest, sometimes you can see something move across.”
She said. The stars were wonderful and they were the only things she couldn’t reach. She was no bird that could just fly up and touch them. She wondered why birds even sat in branches to sing. She would be flying the who time doing her business as she needed to.
Smiling as he opened the door for her and held it open she entered first. Though it wasn’t that bright outside it was far darker in here and her eyes needed adjusting but she moved in the house far enough for Robert to follow her. It was dark and the scent was musty. It seemed as though it had not been lived in for some time. Her eyes soon caught glimpses of things here and there in the shadows. The home was plain. Most of the stuff in it had been looted out to join another wolf’s home. That was fine with her. She wanted her own stuff, though she could tell it had old furnishings, possibly from the very last human owners that lived her. The color of the furnature was hard to tell until Robert would come in with his candle. She supposed, one good thing about having it with them at least.
