It was so pleasant there. She wasn't in her pack. She should have been more vigilant. It was so hot out though, and the shade was nice and cool, and there was a stream right there. Not more than a couple minutes had passed, and Terra had passed off to dream land. Occasionally her body twitched, lost in a dream where all the food she could wish for was placed before her, and Kit was playing games, hiding the food so she would hunt it out to eat.
The nudge startled her, sending her bolting up. Fangs flashed, thinking she was under attack. Instinctively she lunged towards the direction of the touch, ready to kill whoever had tried to harm her. It had been stupid for her to fall asleep. She'd lived on her own for long enough to know that. Hackles raised as she measured the threat, a reddish coyote. Just one of her own kind. The hackles remained raised, struggling with her paranoia. She'd been growing more nervous recently, even though she knew she shouldn't have. At last she relaxed, sitting down again. You should know better than to approach a sleeping stranger.
