She did it... she got away. It took so many tries. The first she couldn’t move of fear, the second, she had been caught and tied down, beaten and she lost her food privileges. The third time she froze again. But this time... the fear did not overpower. This time it was the anger, the rage of the man that stood guard over her. She had to do his every whim and yet he wouldn’t let her have a piece of meat, not even scraps. So she beat him with a rock until he lay in a pool of his own blood. Then she ran. She ran and ran and didn’t stop. She knew they were behind her. She was exhausted but they were behind her! They were snarling at her feet. She was never going to make it.
She continued and though it seemed they were following her the second she killed one of them, they never caught up. She always stayed one step ahead of them. Her body couldn’t last any longer now, she was hungry, thirsty, her muscles screamed. Muscles she hadn’t used in over a month. Where she went, she didn’t know but it was as far away from those creatures as she could go. She had been a prisoner for too long. A slave for their wants and needs... she would continue running....until she fell.
She was face first on the ground breathing hard. Her eyes shut waiting, waiting for that familiar weight, the ear chewer loved pretending she was a child as she was so very small and when she was laying like this it was when he would come to her. That was when the tears came and she began crying, yet nothing wet poured from her eyes. She was so dehydrated that she couldn’t even cry properly. She couldn’t move. She could only whimper and hope they didn’t find her. She wished she could die properly so they could lose what they had seemed to take advantage of and she would no longer have to run ever again.
