Not so eerie whispers

Draugr is by Requiem!

With the stone in place, the wolfdog moved to the next spot, pausing before she dug as Itachi spoke. She peered toward him curiously, nodding. She knew what it was to be alone as a child -- but she'd had mama Siv with her, always, and when god is always there, hovering above or carrying Draugr on her back, what reason did she have to desire a like-aged playmate? It was strange to Draugr to lack memories of childhood, though. The earliest things were fuzzy blurs, snapshots without any context. But after that, things came into focus rather suddenly and sharply -- and from there, Draugr remembered many things. Holes in the memory was a troubling thing, Dra thought, though she dared not speak such to Itachi.

His next words, as she drew back from the second finished hole, elicited another pause from Draugr, and she tilted her head. I always thought other children were fools. It was fun to play games with Molcaxitl, but it was never as fun as learning the garden plants or watching mama Siv at her work. Draugr had played because it was expected of her and she would have risked offending the daughters of the Auxiliary -- this was no more, of course, but perhaps it had been best for her to seed friendships between herself and well-blooded individuals. It had not been unbearable, after all. Were you different like that? she inquired, keeping her voice cordially polite. The next hole was dug, though Draugr would soon circle back and pat the dirt down around the stones to help keep them in place.
