There were no specific tasks set for today except for this pathway, and he intended to ensure it would have a touch of visual quality to it. China would surely appreciate it, be it a surprise or not. It was difficult for the man to estimate when the lovely bird would return to her nest, so he found it easiest not to attempt to make this a surprise.

He didn’t doubt that the young woman was able.
As for Itachi, he thought he probably belonged right where he was. He didn’t have any burning, unfinished tasks before him. Not hierarchy wise, at least. One needed to know devotion to become something great within Salsola, and Itachi wasn’t capable of great care. He would protect his pack and the woman he loved, but he didn’t desire responsibility for individuals he did not care about.
