Strel leaned against the wall, seated on an old cushioned box in the lobby of the hotel. His hands were empty and his mind was empty too. Still sober, and he was proud of himself. What was he coming to? Being proud of not having a drink in days, like some common drunk without a care in the world. He was disgusted with himself, all this drinking. It was doing him absolutely no good, and he was fed up with it. But for whatever reason, his body demanded more and now he had to force himself to keep the drink from him. So he sat himself in the lobby where he could behave himself and not tempt himself with a drink in Lunenberg or upstairs in his room. Hell, even being in his room meant he was tempted to drink. All the memories, all the pain that burned in the back of his head that the alcohol numbed away.

The Dauphin glanced up at the stairs to see a shaky young woman with a creature on her shoulder. She looked none too stable, and the tailor could see that she was on a slippery slope down the stairs. Something was wrong about her, and though he had never met her really, something was off. He furrowed his brows at the sight of her, and at the scent. It smelled kind of off, and it was a familiar kind of off. But she seemed so sick that he could hardly figure out why. Rising, the Dauphin came to the woman's side, taking her hand and putting another on her back to support her. "Are you okay? You seem a little shaky, miss," he asked, concerned. It was a good thing considering that he was so rarely lately concerned with his pack. But things seemed to be going good so far. "Do you need fresh air? You seem kind of sick." He led her toward the door, knowing there was fresh water and good air outside the Hotel.
