came out a bit long | +505

The house was quiet, too quiet for him now. The children were away on their own errands of whatever that drew them. He had gotten used to and enjoyed hearing the noises of pups bouncing about from room to room playing their various chase games and the childish laughter that brought joy to his heart. There was no laughter right now to bring joy to his heart but the memories that played through his mind of the pup's laughter were helping to keep his heart happy.

Temo may have been alone in his thoughts but he was not alone in the house as Jace was busy working on something in another room and when his thoughts turned to her it reminded him that the laughter of children will soon be echoing through the halls of the house once again. That brought a smile to his muzzle as he thought about the new litter that was on the way and he hoped he will do as good job at helping Jace raise them as he did the first bunch.

It was while roaming through the house that his eyes came into focus on the wind up record player that they had found so long ago and the boxes of records that went with it. There was even some new records that were added to the collection as they found them in their travels. He padded over to the player and gave the wind up crank some turns tightening the spring inside. He thumbed through the discs and selected one, and placed it on the turntable. He set the pickup arm onto the spinning record and the scratchy human music came out. "One o'clock, Two o'clock, Three O'clock, rock around the clock..." came out of the horn and as Temo listened for a moment, decided that it did not fit the mood and took it off the player.

There were several records that were selected and played quickly to be rejected and returned to the box they came out of. One record played some curious music that had no words to it, but started "da da da da da da da da da (in a different key)" with other musinc wooohing up and down and a woosh woosh woosh like it was swimming in the music. He shook his head at the weirdness of the humans as he put that record back and placed a smaller one onto the turntable. The slow music and singing that came out sounded weird. It sounded like someone was singing in slow motion and the record was quickly put back into the box.

The next record that he selected and put onto the player produced a song that was a bit slow in tempo and was nice as he listened to it. Then the chorus started "You light up my life" and he thought of Jace and how she is the light of his life. He stepped back from the table and let the song continue to play on the machine as he listened to it.
