The young pup was quickly getting older. At five months of age she was beginning to understand her environment more readily. However with the understanding came confusion. She no longer believed her mother was going to come for her, and she didn’t know who her father was. She was sure her Uncle knew but dared not ask, afraid of the answer. But her curiosity was running wild with her new view of the world and it was not just her parents that knocked at her mind.
Recently she had heard that one called Gemma had been harmed, the white wolfess with the two strange fluff balls that her Uncle had deemed pups. They didn’t quite look like pups a month ago but Aranck had told her they were probably more to her liking now and suggested she go and keep Gemma and the little ones company. Jiya readily accepted the suggestion, her curiosity getting the better of her. What had happened to Gemma? Where was the pups’ father? What were their names? What was her spirit guide? She had quickly decided while talking to Io that larger spirit Guides were not nearly as interesting.
She had spent the morning searching for some blue flowers to bring to Gemma, as she had been told blue flowers were good for the sick or hurt, they were a wish for good health and a blessing. She padded along towards the great fire. She knew very little about the fire except that it was important and this Gemma lady took care of it. Upon approaching the large flame she spotted the white wolf and the two pups, who as Uncle promised looked more like pups now. Approaching them nervously her ears flickered backwards, the flames reflecting into her redish coat. The blue flowers held in her mouth made it difficult to speak so she hesitantly placed them down before speaking and announcing her presence,Ayv ayovhi atsivsgi nasgiai nihi."
