The once-Dreaming male rounded a large tree, and there was the merle woman. She came to him unexpectedly, her nose touching his neck and her arms wrapping around him. She smaller form rested against him as she hugged him close and once the surprise was surmounted he brought a hand around her as well and gave a squeeze. The other touched the axe to make sure that it would not accidentally hurt her.

Her voice came to his ears and at first he smiled, for they indeed had reunited. But then when she followed it with another though his brow furrowed and his lips frowned slightly. Why would you think that? his tone was not angered, but simply curious and he then smiled when her eyes rose to meet his. She backed away a few paces, and Oak kept his smile, though there was little understanding to the greeting. His mind and body attempted to untangle the questions of excitement and then insecurity showed him.

I am well. He replied, though it was only half true. He then nodded when she spoke of the pack, features becoming more sullen. Crimson Dreams disbanded, I live in Berwick now. Not far from your pack, actually. She still smelled greatly of the d’Arte and it seemed obvious that she was still part of them. Oak followed her motions, first unleashing the axe to lay beside him and then sitting beside her.

How are you? he asked as fingers picked at the grass planted next to him.
