[aw: voyage plot] landlubber's relief

(330) Dated July 8th. A rowboat containing CdA members and trade goods is dispatched to the Northern Tides coast and makes a temporary camp. I will be on vacation after posting this, so anyone can feel free to actually write them landing the boat and beginning to move stuff; you can assume Levent is kissing/worshipping solid ground and helping in the background. x3

Levent and Wilson are by me!

Land came into sight, and Levent nearly leaped out of the rowboat and swam for it himself. Such a notion was suicidal, though; the boat bobbed in the waves, and due to his fear of deep water, he had never learned how to swim. All he could do was perch at the very front of the boat, leaning over to stare even as his scrawny arms worked to help row. The rhythm and the control over the vessel kept him from going insane, at least.

This would only be the first trip to and from the grander ship. His heart sank at the thought of having to go back into the terrifying bay, but he knew he’d be needed to help calm the animals as they were transported across the water; his knowledge of livestock and his skill in low speech would make him a necessary assent.

Right now, the boat was full with a few d’Artisans who’d help row and set up the camp in the northern area, roughly half the supplies and plants from their stock, and a few kittens. A couple crouched between Levent’s legs as he rowed; a sharp meow from the wolf discouraged from going on an adventure across the rowboat. One tiny black tom tried to perch on the side of the boat and look over the edge, but Wilson growled and reached over, gripping him by the scuff and putting him down. The white cat looked less than pleased with his job, and when the kitten tried to escape, he simply sat on him.

Almost there, Levent suggested, more nervously making noise than to actually help the others’ morale. He followed this statement up with another quick but powerful (or with as much power as his scrawny body could produce) stroke of the oars, desperate to speed up the process. Come to think of it, the others might have to drag him kicking and screaming back on the rowboat to get the livestock.
