Colibri hobbled through the village of Jordheim, weak but determined. She was stubbornly refusing to rest, though it was only the second day after she had been attacked outside their borders. She felt edgy and uneasy, and it was preferable to be up and walking around instead of languishing in bed and letting the symptoms of paranoia and nausea progress. She would not have told anyone in the pack what happened if she had not feared for their safety as well; she did not want their pity, and it made her extra irritable whenever anyone tried to offer their help. She had re-wrapped the bandages on her chest herself, after her late night with the pack's Godja, Miskunn Stormbringer. It would take even longer to heal now that they had reopened the lacerations, but it would be in the shape of a Norse rune once it closed up, and in a strange way Coli was looking forward to seeing it as a scar.

The frail Optime stopped for a brief rest, breathing heavily as she leaned against a hillock sloping into an unclaimed house. She had so little energy, she got exhausted from just walking short distances. It frustrated her that she could not immediately return to her daily routine and pretend nothing happened. The little claw marks and bruises were already receding, hidden by her fur; she had broken no bones, sprained no muscles, and yet she was still so enervated. Growling faintly under her breath, she pushed herself back up again, limping her way towards the communal herb garden. She had not been able to check on it these past two days, and she was not sure if anyone else had been tending it. It was largely her responsibility, and she wanted to fulfill those expectations.

The sun had reached its peak in the sky, washing its warm light over her face and shoulders. She sighed, relaxing under its welcome touch. She loved being outdoors, surrounded by verdant nature. Momentarily giving up on her arduous journey, Colibri lowered herself stiffly to the ground, settling into the grass with her chin atop her knees. Maybe just a little break wouldn't hurt. She did ache all over, and the herb garden wasn't going anywhere. Letting her eyes flutter shut, she inhaled deeply, drawing in the rich scents of flower petals, pine needles, the peculiar sweet and sour aroma of the grapevines at the vineyard. It was a relief to be home again.
