Everyone in the pack was quick to respond to the Alpha's call. Most managed to arrive before Kiara, who had dragged her feet as she walked. She knew what the meeting was about and dreaded the news. Despite that, she had so many questions. Where was her son now? Was he okay? Why wasn't he back with her? Why had Amy taken Kohaku in the first place? Was Amy feeding Kohaku properly? What was she teaching him? What had she done to him?

Kiara didn't dare look at anyone. She felt hurt, more so than she had ever felt before; as did many of the other wolves of New Dawn. Kiara could practically sense their feelings and it made her feel even worse. The young mother wanted to scream, she wanted to run out of New Dawn and track Amy down.

When the last member's trickled into the meeting, Titina addressed her mate. Zalen spoke with all the power he normally commanded and more. His voice was laced with anger, and the vicious tone was only reenforced by his guttural growls. As the arctic female listened to her leader's speech, she fed off his energy. Kiara's whole body shook and her head raised slightly as the urge for justice and blood rose deep inside her. Black lips pulled back to reveal her sharp fangs, a display that was no less impressive than those of the larger wolves.

Zalen's speech wasn't long, but it was powerful. He gave the kill order for Amy, a move Kiara supposed and was glad for. A low growl came from Kiara and her heckles raised even more. She could feel Lucia beside her and wondered what the puppy thought. It was only the second time that Lucia had seen her mother in such a state, but Kiara thought it was once too many times.

Even though Zalen's decision was one Kiara applauded and was happy for, she still felt very empty. None of her questions had been answered, and it sounded almost like Zalen was blaming Anathema for what had happened. Granted, the pack didn't do anything to help, but Kiara didn't blame them. She was friends with Aeron and refused to blame her friend. It wasn't fare. Amy might have once been part of Anathema, but the dog was uncontrollable. In Kiara's mind, there was nothing Anathema could have done to prevent the tragedy.

Feeling brave, Kiara spoke. "Zalen, do you have any new news on my son?"
