Rio still was cleaning the house, though most of it was clean already. All the dust and debris was gone, and she just had to keep maintaining it. It was an old house, and the dust just kept settling on everything. Rio would make a good housewife someday. She had thrown out all the furniture that didn’t work or wasn’t suitable for Luperci living, so that the house was wolf-living proofed. There was a kitchen with plenty of cabinet space filled with jars of meat and water stored away. The living room just had couches and a small coffee table of some sort, and there was a bedroom downstairs, adjacent to a decommissioned bathroom, in which the door was bolted closed with a plank of wood and a few nails. There were two more bedrooms upstairs, one with a window which was hers, and another without, above the other bedroom downstairs which didn’t have a window either. She never knew why they didn’t have windows, but the one upstairs clearly used to. There was a bricked up space on the wall, and it was very obvious there used to be a window there. Well, that room was open as well.

There were a few chairs out on the porch that Rio found around. The chairs were comfortable enough and they had a space in the back for tails to fall nicely. Rio came out on her porch, planning to sit and relax, but then she saw two females walking a few blocks away. They looked injured and Rio’s motherly instincts immediately wanted to help. Her alert eyes watched them as they walked along, while the older-looking female checked the houses they passed. Rio was aware that all the houses around were not livable except for hers. There was nothing for her to do except wait for them to come closer.
