Axelle had visited this area before, but never the actual village, and she remembered seeing a familiar pack mate there once. She couldn’t recall names, but she remembered their horse becoming uncomfortable in her presence. Maybe she just had that effect; she knew she caused it in many others too – horses and wolves alike. Axelle just didn’t care how she made others feel; she did what she wanted and that was all that mattered to her.

The playground was situated next to a broken statue, one that gave Axelle the chills once she passed by it. It's gentle, perfect face was detached from the rest of its body, which was covered with flowing stone clothes. The statue's pale eyes stared up at the sky for all eternity, and her tired, stone arm rested on the ground next to the rest of her pieces. Axelle continued on, seeing a few rather interesting-looking contraptions. It was a human playground, one of which she had never seen. The equipment was rusty and peeling. The contraption groaned with protest when she pushed the merry-go-round. Axelle's eyes lit up as she walked through the old patchy wood chips - some of them sticking her paw pads, but not enough to distract her from the treasure she found.

She continued to weave through the children's rides, touching and pushing each one. Some of the peeling paint flaked off and fell to the ground as she slid her hand across a raised seesaw. She pushed it down and realized the concept. Then she pulled it back up. Seemed fun. Then she moved toward the merry-go-round. She sat on one of the raised metal seats and tested her weight on the ancient ride before letting her feet push off of the ground. It swung around with a loud groan, and Axelle could hear years worth of rust crunch off as it made its first round. She kicked off the floor again, making herself go faster. Then again, laughing and having a grand old time by herself. She positioned herself on the seat, using another seat as a leg rest. She got comfortable and became drowsy as she watched the tops of the few trees in the area spin around. She was in the perfect position to take a nap, and even though it wasn't really that comfortable, it would work for a small nap. She crouched down as much as she could on the small metal seats, without falling off, and closed her eyes.

After she had been sleeping for about twenty minutes, she was able to sink into an even deeper sleep. Colorful dreams whirled around in her head and a faint smile appeared on her sleeping face. The dreams were too blurry to make out, but she knew her mate had been somewhere in there. Malakai, the soon to be, love of her life. She could see herself making pups with him one day, if she wasn’t carrying them already. She hadn’t felt any signs as of late, so she doubted. The faint smile on her lips grew bigger as she continued to dream about him. She wished he was there laying with her in the back of her mind, but he was right before her in her dreams.
