While the female was built for the harsh winter weather the heat of the summer was something that she wasn't entirely used to dealing with. She had lived in the north all of her life but she wasn't used to the temperatures getting up as high as they had been lately. Was this punishment for not having made it to land's end? The female found that she couldn't end up doubting that. Maybe if she had made it to land's end and then doubled back? Or no, she had been assured that her destiny had led her to come here. Still, what other explanation could there be for this unusual heat?
It was growing towards day's end, the sun tittering on the horizon still. Willam reached up a hand to grab her crucifix in order to whisper a prayer to the setting sun. She had a lot to be thankful for, surviving yet another day being top among them. As she did at the close of every day she poured out all of her thanks and blessings for the day that had passed and remained away from any complaints that she might have. She really had no right to complain, or so she believed. Whatever things she thought to complain about had to have been things she brought upon herself in one fashion or another.
Châtiment made his presence known by chuffing next to Willam. The female dropped the object in her hand in order to look up at the equine. a hand reached up to swat at the biting flies on his shoulder when she saw just what was bothering him. No matter how much his muscles had twitched to get rid of them they continued to come back. Willam cupped her hands together and dipped them into the water of the river to bring up some to pour over the spot where the flies had been irritating Châtiment. "There you go. That should help." She spoke softly and knelt down to cup some more water into her hands to pour over the same spot once again.
