Somebody Save Me

D’awww, Wretch’s new avatar is super cute!

Since Colibri’s attack, Ezra had become even more aloof. From his pack He chose to patrol the borders, alone, instead of doing other communal pack things. He got no solace out of the activity, however, and had recently fallen into an even deeper depression despite recently talking to Lilin about old times. Something had changed and broken within him, and there was nothing the hybrid could do about it. Ezra wasn’t sure how to either forget about the black cloud hanging over his head or get his mind stuck out of the past. He was a walking cliché; he had told Coli that this was a place for new beginnings but the bitter Hollr didn’t take his own advice.

Despite Ezra’s discovery of his arthritic joints in the past few days, he kept walking the borders. Today was at the pace his paws wanted him to go, which was slow. The Hollr cursed the dog in him, for the line of huskies he came from were all inbred and most likely the cause of his pain. He still carried on, though, and was glad he did when the call reached his ears. He could recognize that voice anywhere; why was she at the borders?

Ezra set off like a bullet in the direction of the noise, a small smile forming over his previous scowl. He had saved Wretch from a horrible situation not too long ago, so the man was pleased as punch to hear from her again. After some time the mammoth reached the silver woman, and he let out a happy bark. Wretch! The hybrid called out as he left the thick of the forest to race to her side. Not in any trouble again are you? Ezra said, chuckling. Oh, what a wonderful surprise!
