Asgeir
But your thoughts will soon be wandering,
the way they always do, When you're ridin' sixteen hours
And there's nothin' much to do
OOC :: Sooooey! Pigpigpig!!

Despite his original intent to head south after leaving the Sangi'lak pack grounds, Asgeir had remained in the general area. There was good shade, and he had plenty of wood to work with. He'd been making forms for the various figurines he normally traded. This one that looked essentially like the one he'd given X'yrin would be an owl, or with a little re-shaping, a songbird. This one with wings spread wide was more like an eagle or a seabird. The four-legged forms could be shaped into canines, deer, horses, bears... Just about anything a person could imagine and then some.

When he'd finished making forms, the craftsman had moved on to making pegs that could be used to secure pieces of wood, one to another. Oftentimes he did not have access to metal nails, so he had begun making wooden pegs in various sizes. He could shape a hole just about the same size between the two pieces of wood he worked on, and then pound the pegs into the holes. It made them nearly as strong as a nail would, and he could save the nails he did have for projects that really required them.

A soft snorting sound that did not blend in to the sounds of the forest fauna drew his attention away from the peg he had just finished. A piglet, a layer of black fur covering it, was rooting around in earnest effort to find itself some food. Its well-kept appearance made the warrior believe, however, that the piglet had wandered away from someone. He knew there were other packs around this vicinity other than Sangi'lak, but since that was the one he was best acquainted with, it was the one to which he would take the piglet if he managed to catch it. Slowly, slowly, he got to his feet. Although his right eye was feeling weak and the eyelid was drooping, he removed his plaid from his face; he could perhaps use it to help capture the pig.

Clutching the green and brown cloth in one hand, Asgeir crept forward, on all fours despite remaining in Optime form. Nearer and nearer he got till finally he sprang for the piglet. His heavy body flew through the air, but his vision was playing tricks on him and he landed to one side of the swine. He startled it, and was rewarded only with the sight of the dark-fuzzed rump heading back the way it came. Sparing only a glance to his belongings (Sunny and Speck were unhitched, they would keep an eye on things) Asgeir took after the piglet, unknowingly chasing it toward X'yrin. He galloped along on all fours, even though it left him looking undignified with his rear stuck up higher than his shoulders.

And you don't feel much like ridin',
You just wish the trip was through
