Ever since Saul had expressed interest in sprucing up the packlands with new buildings, the Hollr had gotten very excited. Carpentry was extremely relaxing to the man and it was a skill he had learned very easily thanks to Barry. He had indeed been a bit rusty because it had been quite a long time since he had thought about the knowledge he had picked up at Hillsburn, but the man had built shelves in his new home and thought a lot about how to improve Coli’s door, so he was on his way to sharpening his skills back up.
Ezra had received his message early in the morning, and shifted accordingly. While he wondered idly what Wretch and Eli were doing, he went alone to the pack activity. Ezra must have taken a leisurely walk to get there because Niernan, Saul, and a dog Ezra only recognized by face were there already. He hoped he wasn’t too late! The husky was given a shovel by Saul and given instructions to dig. Ezra gripped the shovel carefully, wondering where to start. Anywhere would be good, he figured, and launched the metal into the dirt. It hit some rocks, but Ezra’s brute strength took care of that. Soon the man’s body was in a rhythm of digging and flinging but his mind was taken elsewhere. Ever’s light blue eyes seemed to glow just out of the corner of his eye, but he knew he was just seeing things. The man went back to looking at the dirt, deciding to not think about either pair of blue eyes that haunted him these days.
