Out of character
Dalgina was curled up in the house, looking outside. Rain streaked past the windows to the floor, splatters coming in where the shutters were open. She watched a puddle form on the ground, drip by drip growing across. It would take time to dry up again. Dalgina didn't feel like going outside when it was so wet. She might not end up soaked, but today she felt like just being by herself, and looking over her drawings.
Stretching she padded downstairs, passing the front door. It was closed, or rain would be coming in from there as well. The house was dark, no light from the sun to filter through. Finding a stub of a candle Dalgina lit it, and stepped over to where her treasures were kept. Jewelry gleamed inside, bracelets and necklaces and even beautiful earrings and anklets covering the cupboard. Dalgina smiled as she lifted them out, spreading them over the ground, and picking through them, playing with their reflections in the light.
