Hadley smiled down at his newborn daughter, carrying her with him as he headed into the fort. Amatha let out a cute puppy whine, tiny form shifting in his grasp. She was so young, her eyes not even opened yet. He loved her so much. Hadley hadn't even known that he had that much heart to give. Isa was recovering from the death of their other child, leaving Hadley to care for Amatha the best he could. She would come and feed Amatha, but often she was depressed.
The scarred hybrid was sorrowful over the death as well, but it wasn't nearly as deep and consuming in nature. He was used to losing those he cared for, used to the loss of family. He didn't have anyone that would acknowledge him as family outside of Isa and the small family they had started together. It helped him adapt to it and move on to caring for the family that he did have, much faster. With one hand he stroked her belly, laughing quietly as the pup turned in his grip.
Reaching the medical office Hadley looked around. This would be where he would work for medical things now. Carefully he moved through, noting where everything was. Amatha fell asleep before he had taken more than a few steps, exhausted by the gentle travel. Doing his best to not disturb her Hadley continued on, smiling endlessly with the small warmth in his arms.
