Following around Rin was always plenty of fun. For a pup who couldn’t run without falling flat on his face, there wasn’t much that was more entertaining than listening and observing in his own special way exactly what she was doing. But only so many interesting smells and sounds came from sitting in the same place while his caretaker played with “wool”. Eventually he drifted off to sleep.
Zeus was almost always blessed with pleasant dreams. The day after he had been attacked by the monster bird had been the only time he’d ever had a bad dream and that had really been a memory of the attack. So while he lay there on X’yrin’s thigh memories of his mother and family shapelessly played through his mind. Every now and then his leg would twitch or a soft content sigh would find its way from his muzzle.
He awoke to a new smell and the sound of another’s footsteps close by. He was by relation a stranger so it was fair that he be afraid when strong hands picked him up, but Rin’s voice ensured him that his man was okay. He trusted her enough to drift back off into a shallow sleep in the secure grasp but couldn’t get as comfortable as he had been and soon awoke once more. The stranger’s hands felt nice on his fur and he licked at them appreciatively. He stretched, pressing his hind legs into a firm belly, sat up and turned to analyze the male who’s lap he sat on. What are you doing Rin? He asked before releasing a long yawn.
