It's not always so dark

The female fidgeted by the fire a bit; she seemed surprised at Sepirah's pet snake. The dark jackal absentmindedly petted the serpent, who hissed softly in response. So Sonje was the other woman's name, Sepirah thought as she watched the lighter wolfdog woman wrap her arms around her knees, making her appear smaller than she had already.

She shook her head at Sonje's question. "I don't have anything to eat," she said, now positive that Sonje was not from any packs nearby - if she was, she would most certainly have had something to eat, and wouldn't be asking mysterious strangers for food - or at least, she would be asking her own packmates for food, rather than making a fire in neutral territories with her horse, and what seemed like the rest of her worldly possessions.

"We can go fish or hunt if you want. Do you live around here?" she coaxed, attempting to get at least some information from the strange woman. Even if she was a loner, which the dark jackal was almost sure she was, at least she may have some information about surrounding packs. And if she didn't, it was not much of a loss after all.
