In her movements beforehand, Sonje had inexplicably re-obtained that fist-sized rock, toting it now as loped swiftly after her hunting partner. She daren't trust the stranger, but hunger overrode her wariness and the Helsi child felt perfectly capable of defending herself. She licked her jaws, thoughtlessly keeping delicate and precise pace with the dagger-wielding hybrid a couple paces ahead, eying the weapon not fearfully, but jealously. She'd lost her own several weeks back and hadn't come across a suitable replacement since — she wasn't against trying to steal this woman's, but she didn't see the pros outweighing the cons of that situation.

Though she was shadowing Sepirah in motion, Sonje relied on her own senses to track their quarry, which eventually turned out to be deer. The pair moved in comparative silence, the young Sonje mostly taking clues from the older huntress, but she showed a talent for the task. Tactfully they separated, coming up swiftly on the fringes of the herd and taking positions downwind of their shaggy, grazing, moonlit forms. It would be Sonje's task to herd a catch into the willing blade of Sepirah.

She chose which one, a scrawny doe, who was perhaps sickly despite the summer months; an easy pick for the pair of them to divvy up nicely and still have plenty leftovers. Intuitively, she threw her rock into the deer's midst and then sprang to sequester a group of three which included her target. Snarling, the wolfdog charged forward with flaws outstretched, sending the doe to where her partner lay crouched.
