Kiara continued ahead for a couple steps, not yet realizing that he had stopped moving. If only the den was closer. Or that he was strong enough to not show so much of his weakness. Tharin straightened as a whine escaped from her lips, ready to push himself right back up and continue on. He wasn't going to let her worry about him. It was his own foolish fault for not thinking about what he'd be going up against. Not that he'd been capable of understanding such a thing.
It didn't look like their eyes would be meeting tonight, the heavy subject in the air. He couldn't wait for this monster to be killed so that the pack could go back to the boisterous way it had been before. Before he could fully stand Kiara came back, nestling into his body. Tharin settled again, licking gently at Kiara's body as he moved to cuddle against her frame, keep her safe despite the blood running from his wounds. Not more than a trickle from broken scabs, but enough. You won't become one. If she didn't want to be infected, she certainly wouldn't do anything to get sick. Simple enough.
Family comes first.
