Peaceful Intentions

Here, have a paranoid Neela wondering what’s going on. :3 Optime form, with her usual overloaded belt and two pairs of knives..

There were enemies everywhere. Or at least, this was what the pregnant collie’s hormone driven paranoia assured her. Born from hormones and fear of the pups growing inside her Neea’s paranoia had her jumping at shadows, convinced that danger could be anywhere, just waiting to attack her and kill her pups before they had a chance to be born. This mood typically expressed itself as a compulsive desire to roam the borders and make sure nobody trespassed on Casa lands and an odd attitude towards her fellow Cavaliers – being around other people left her a bit grumpy but she also stuck around them as much as possible, feeling safer when not alone.

Still despite all her work to calm her mind Neela was still worried. The collie had plenty on her mind, how the hell she was going to approach the topic of her being pregnant to Tony featuring chiefly on this list, and it had left her in a bad mood, trying to predict how her younger mate would react to this. The state of her body was another concern, already her pregnancy was visible and affecting her movements, her swollen stomach tugging when she stretched and slowing her down. It seemed rather counterproductive to Neela, her body making it harder to move and fight during the one time when she really couldn’t afford to take any wounds or bumps.

Suddenly Neela’s musings blanked out as an unfamiliar scent met her nose, wafting over from the border. Indecision filled her mind – should she go see what it was, should she hide, should she run like hell and get some help – when a howl came up from what seemed to be the source of the scent, causing her to relax slightly; a true attacked probably wouldn’t howl to announce themselves.

Being that she was already on the border and fairly close Neela arrived at the site of the howl fairly soon after it had been called, approaching quietly through the undergrowth and peering suspiciously at the male who had made the call before she revealed her presence. She wasn’t happy with what she saw; he was massive! Nearly as tall as Tony, with muscles to match his height and a bow on his back. Common sense would have told Neela to slink back into the shadows and wait for somebody else to handle this but her pride refused to cower away from a stranger standing at the edge of her home.

Neela stepped out of the bushes, purposely making her exit noisy to announce her presence, head craning upwards along with her ears and tail as her eyes met the strangers. The paranoid part of her mind wanted to be aggressive, to drive away this male for no reason other than being a stranger but she clamped down on that impulse; unwarranted aggression to a visitor wasn’t acceptable.

Neela’s voice was stiff and formal when she spoke, lacking the usual warmth and Spanish undertones she often spoke with, ”You approach Casa di Cavalieri lands Stranger.” she stated, neither rejecting nor inviting, just questioning. Neela’s hands rested down by her sides, not in a threatening position but still where she could reach the foot long knives mounted at the small of her back in an instant if need be.
