Lena’s small and slender fingers ran themselves over Zalen’s features and he made sure to stay very still. He became extremely aware suddenly of both Deuce’s and Cody’s eyes on what was transpiring between Zalen and Lena and it gave the moment an almost surreal electricity. But this strange sensation was loudly broken by the suddenly arrival of the two new shifter’s mother, Sky. At the sound of her mother’s exuberant voice, Lena finished her exploration of the Alpha’s face quickly before turning her attention to her mother.
Almost in a daze, Zalen stood to look at the tender moment between mother and children before turning to look at Deuce with a smile, he put a hand on her shoulder tenderly; Zalen was very glad to have all the Rhiannon’s in New Dawn. But feeling that the moment no longer required him, Zalen quietly excused himself from the group, and headed out to patrol the borders, his heart full of joy at what he had just experienced.
