Better run, better run- faster than my bullet

Hi Smile [WC: 515 | Pts: 5]

She had managed, this time, to sneak away from Kai and get her ass into Halifax without being followed. She knew she was walking into trouble, but it was what she did best- but she was well armed this time. If she were to find someone, they'd better run from her. The two-toned Marbas walked into the city with the intent to kill. Her eyes scanned the area around her, but she saw no movement. She eyed the buildings that Kai easily jumped onto, but she wasn’t interested in any low-rise buildings. She needed an advantage, and she wouldn’t get it by being close to the ground. Being close to the ground would get her easily spotted.

She had her crossbow strapped to her back as well as a dagger strapped to her thigh, and a smaller knife to her ankle. All she really needed, though, was the crossbow, and the dagger to do some throat-cutting and maybe some heart-eating as well. Her mouth watered as she thought of the juice of a wolf heart. Some thought it was cannibalism, but she found that anything that wanted to kill her was equally prey in return.

The female cut a corner and followed along the narrow city sidewalk. She encountered a small mess in the street – glass, a shattered wooden door, which was ripped from its hinges, various blood stains in the street - she was surprised the rain hadn't washed them away - and a strong smell of stale blood emanating from the apartment the doorway stairs led to. She almost died in there – if it wasn’t for Kai coming to her rescue, she would have been a goner. Ever since then, she hadn’t been able to go anywhere without her mate following her. She’ll show him, though. She went there for some revenge, and she would find it – whether it looked for her or not.

She circled around that block, finding that very apartment to be a tall enough building to sit and wait. She found a creaky ladder on the back of the building where some humans left their kitchen appliances stacked up beside it. That gave her easy access to the fire escape. She climbed the piled furniture and carefully stepped onto the rusting metal structure – it seemed sturdy enough to hold her, but she stepped lightly anyway. Her large form climbed all the way to the top. The roof had holes in it, but for the most part it seemed sturdy enough. Axelle hustled to the other side that overlooked the street and set up shop. She took the crossbow off of her back, laid on her stomach and waited for someone to come along. She was well hidden from a small ridge from a crack in the roof; just the nose of her gun was showing the tiniest bit. She poked her weapon through the crack and waited for something, anything, to shoot at. After a few moments, she grumbled lowly to herself. "Come on...." The words were whispered, and there was no possible way anyone else would've heard her.
