When she saw the man wander onto the same street she was stalking, all of her muscles tensed at once. Her eyes became wide and she watched as he peered into the store window across the street. She watched his every fluid move - when he looked into the window, how he seemed disturbed by the creepy human collectibles, and how he looked around. He sensed she was there, but he couldn't see her. She scurried forward just a little, and aimed the crossbow for his head. She wanted to squeeze the trigger so bad, but she knew that would screw up her whole plan. Her heart pounded with the excitement of her revenge. The man kept looking around, but he wasn't looking in the right places. She was above him, not below on his level. That would be stupid - and also a death wish; one that she knew too well. So instead, she lowered her target to one of his legs, and squeezed. She hoped for it to hit a calf, maybe a thigh if she was lucky. The arrow soared through the air, just as it had done many other times while she killed innocent rabbits for practice, food, or training others by piercing them through the skull, without much effort. Her aim had just become that good over the few months, maybe a year, since she found her baby, the crossbow, in Halifax.

What she was unaware of was the fact that she had currently been hunting her friend. Itzal, a former love interest of her, in fact – that made it even crazier. Maybe if an outside party knew that detail, they would understand why she shot him – but that wasn’t the case. Axelle was on a revenge mission, and she didn’t care who it was that walked unknowingly into her trap – they were going to feel her wrath. They would hurt, and then they would die.

This man, whoever she shot, would not get the best of her. Axelle peered over the roof, carefully, as she heard the wet sound of an arrow connecting with flesh. She saw the man begin to stumble, but she hid her face before he would turn around to see her. She got her crossbow ready for a second arrow, just in case he wouldn’t fall from the first.
