Better run, better run- faster than my bullet

You know if it was anyone but Axelle, Itzal would probably try and kill them the second he got the chance.

Itzal looked up from the window and looked around. He could feel a prickle sensation on his neck and he scratched at it. He looked right and left, making sure there was no one else on the street. He frowned, then shrugged it off and looked back down at the dolls. To late did he realize his instincts had been trying to warn him. He heard the distantly familiar twang of the crossbow firing and felt the arrow bolt pierce his leg. Unfortunately for him that was the leg he was resting most of his weight on and it buckled under him. He swore as he fell, but he at least manage to roll with his feet so he was on his back and he could sit up with the legs that was hit on the ground and one leg bent at the knee, holding him up a tiny bit. Before he had even hit the ground he had two throwing knives in his hand and was scanning the roofs for where he though it had most likely come from.

Itzal was growling while he was scanning the roofs, pissed at himself for not realizing his instincts had been telling him something wasn't right. And now he was wounded and at a disadvantage. He couldn't see the person shooting, so he couldn't use his knives. He was in a bad position. But his face didn't reveal anything of what he was thinking. It was cold and hard as he scanned the rooftops. He hoped whoever it was would come down and greet him. Because he swore to himself if they did, whoever it was wouldn't walk away from him alive. He would make sure he ripped their throats open and watch them as they bled to death. He would make them beg for them to end it. He could already feel Eztli pushing for control over him. And he was tempted to let him have it, it was the first time Eztli had bothered him since his uncle's death. But he knew he had to be able to think and go about this how he wanted, and Eztli wouldn't let that happen. So he remained in control for now. But if Eztli wanted to help him murder whoever the fool was Itzal wouldn't mind letting him. Whoever it was should probably just take the smart route and kill him from a distance because if they didn't they would see a true monster up close and personal.

But Itzal didn't realize who it was that had shot him. He had recognized the sound of the crossbow but he didn't connect that with the obvious resolution. He just wanted to kill at the moment and he didn't care who it was. Or at least that is what he told himself.
