Itzal watched as Axelle realized it was him back in control. First he could feel her lessen the pressure on the knife, and he took the chance to breath in some. He felt the blood running down his neck and he couldn't help but smile at it. Then when the realization truly dawned on her the knife left his throat and she stood up, backing away from her. He propped himself up on his hands as he sat up. He wiped the blood away from his throat. Both of their coats were matted with blood. Some still wet and other parts starting to dry. Both of them had come so close to killing the other. It was hard for Itzal to handle, thinking about how hard he had let Eztli come to killing Axelle. Axelle who he once would have happily been mated too. It had been so close to what had happened to the first female he had loved. That was why he had left to protect Axelle. But Itzal had stopped Eztli hadn't he? He hadn't let him murder Axelle, which meant that maybe it wasn't hopeless for Itzal after all.

He watched as Axelle turned from him and went to retrieve her crossbow. Itzal stood up himself and went to pick up the sultan's knife that Eztli had lost. He growled, seeing the blood covered knife. He bent and picked it up, sliding it back onto one of his belt loops. When he looked back up Axelle was walking away from him. He took a step towards her then hesitated. He could smell the fresh blood in the air and he could feel the fading tension. Even if he did go after he, what was he going to say. Axelle had wanted to meet Eztli before and maybe now that she had, she wanted nothing to do with Itzal. But Itzal knew Axelle, she loved to danger, and he doubted Eztli had truly scared her off. So why was she walking away?

Itzal decided to follow her, and he jogged to catch up with her. When he was a few steps behind her he couldn't help himself from grinning. He fell into his old self when he was around Axelle. It always felt so easy with her to be who he really was. A crazy wolf who didn't care what happened to most people. Axelle could understand who he was better than anyone. "No goodbye? I thought we were better friends than that Axelle. I mean you and Eztli just almost killed each other a couple of times. The least we can do is catch up." He said, grinning as he continued to walk a few steps behind her, a cocky grin on his face.
