The three legged luperci was a mass of scars and missing body parts. Although he was really big, the male didn't seem all that intimidating. Rather, Kohaku thought he was weak. How could anyone with only one arm be intimidating? Yet, despite his obvious disadvantages, the stranger only sighed as Kohaku approached. Sure, Kohaku was young and a little small, but he could be intimidating. Angry and frustrated, the pup let out his most intimidating growl. His heckles became raised and the hairs on his tail stood on end. The young wolf wanted to show the stranger that he wasn't someone to be underestimated.
As soon as the older wolf dismounted, Kohaku wanted to run back to Amy. The boy's instincts said that the silver wolf wasn't someone to be around. But, Amy would only punish Kohaku for running away. Running away was a show of weakness and as a prince and superior canine, Kohaku could never show weakness. Again, the pup let loose a growl.
Kohaku wasn't sure if the older male was telling the truth or not. It sounded plausible, but Kohaku didn't remember anything like that. Besides, why would his mother try to rescue him? She had given him away. "You're a liar." The attempt to pacify the pup with an offering of meat only made the pup start to resent the stranger more. Kohaku wasn't stupid. He wouldn't fall for the other's tricks. To show his distaste, Kohaku stepped close to the meat and lifted his back leg. After releasing a stream, the young wolf trotted around looking rather pleased with himself. A mischievous smile stretched across his smirking face as his emrald eyes gleamed in satisfaction. To finish off the insult, Kohaku kicked up some dirt and partially buried the wet offering. Just for the sake of adding insult to injury, Kohaku answered the stranger's question by saying, "Like I'd tell you, stupid."
