He didn't quite get the mouse when she'd dropped it the first time, stiff fingers flexing against the air. He must have been truly sick, unable to grasp the mouse. Dutifully Adelle picked up the mouse, ready to give it to him again so he could eat. The wolf didn't seem very pleased with her attempts to help, instead pulling away as if he had been stung. The dog's head tilted to the side, almost comical in appearance with the small mouse hanging limply out of her mouth.


Can't? What did he mean can't? Hearing that it was something spiritual explained a little, but not a lot. Pure bafflement was on her face at the end of his explanation. This whole starving thing made absolutely no sense. He seemed determined to follow it though. Grinning at the idea Adelle swallowed down the mouse. Alright. And I want some of the wapiti to eat too. If he lived that long. The starvation explained a lot.
