She stared at him, watching his body quiver as she swallowed the mouse down. He wasn't healthy. At this point Adelle was convinced that he wasn't all there. She felt sorry for him, but the bright dog wasn't about to force him to eat something that he didn't want. She'd just turn away from it, and push the image of him slowly starving away from her mind. As long as she kept her mind on better things it couldn't be that bad after all.
Blinking in surprise Adelle had to stop from stepping back. There had been an awful lot of life in that grin there. She hadn't expected that. Especially not from someone who was close to death.
