Isa had heard the howl and was going to greet the stranger, but decided to take her time and make sure Amatha was comfortable first. Wrapping the small pup in soft furs, Isa held her close to her own body as she headed towards the border. She got there just in time to hear the man talk about his past. Apparently he had lived the life as an assassin as well. At least he was looking to make a better life for himself. Hadley couldn’t see that though. All he saw was a killer standing before him.
