(524) im late ;; mah bad.

It had been a long night for the Virdings. Gideon and Wretch's departure had affected Saul greatly, even if he had been less than willing to discuss it. Lilin had merely sat on the edge of their bed, stroking his back with soft, insistent strokes. She understood his need for silence; the unspoken grievance plaguing his mind. His reaction was perfectly normal and while she desperately wanted to mend his broken heart, the mother-to-be was completely helpless. Her presence was all she could offer to soothe her beau's wounds. While he remained silent, staring blankly at the four walls that made up their bedroom, Lilin mulled over the possible reasons for their departure. None seemed good enough to leave loving family behind, especially not a man who loved as wholly and selflessly as Saul. The whole ordeal made no sense and she could only respond with speechless anger.

Losing Barrett, a family member unbound by blood, had hurt more than anything. Saul had been the one to comfort her, to help her surmount the unexpectedness of it all. She could only relate and somewhat assume that he was going through similar pain. Sleep had finally consumed her train of thoughts, and she'd unwillingly fallen into a deep slumber. Lilin had no idea if her mate had slept at all that night, rising with the early morning sun to find him already awake. The Village Hall was almost completed and she'd offered to help with the final touches, in hopes of lightening the mood and spending the day with him - they rarely had a chance to work together. Her offer, however, had been received less enthusiastically than she'd hoped. Saul had left on his morning run, as he did every day, and Lilin had remained behind; wondering if her presence there would truly benefit the pack. Hours had passed, she'd made it to the Grove and back, reciting a few prayers alongside their Godja before passing through the building site on her way back to Jordheim. Her cousins were already hard at work, and her mate was visibly engrossed in the task at hand.

Luckily, her sibling was there too. A grateful smile tugged at her lips when her pools of mediterranean blue spotted Colibri next to the giant doors and Sura zipping her way around the chocolate Hollr in nonsensical patterns. A wave was given in greeting whenever one of her packmate would turn and notice her attendance. The Virding filled the void next to Colibri, whom she affectionately nudged with the tip of her nose. Seeing Gideon leave Saul behind without so much as a goodbye made her appreciate the bond she shared with her eldest sister. Lilin didn't know how she would've reacted had it been Coli instead of Gideon, leaving their pack behind in the dead of night. ''Hey, how you feeling?'' she murmured, all the while watching the Aeska pushing against one of the walls with an a bewildered expression. She still was unsure whether Saul wanted her here or not, so she made no move to get involved until either her or Colibri were granted a task.
