She peered at him in the darkness he seemed to blend into. She wanted to kill him. Her fingers itched to wrap around a blade and quietly slit his throat. She hated him, saw him as the epitome of why Men were not to be trusted. He was large and dangerous and could kill her at any moment. She knew it, and she knew that at some point she would have to kill him. If she didn't, she knew he would come after her and hunt her down.
Hunt her like a puppy would hunt down a rat, like a wolf pack would a deer. She smiled grotesquely behind her legs, out of his sight. They were a wolf pack, a pack of wolves, of coyotes, of dogs, of monsters. They were all monsters, each and every one of them. He was going to kill her. She would have to keep herself safe. At all costs, she'd have to keep herself safe.
He was a monster especially, she thought, the man Itzal, the monster Itzal. He was a night monster creeping out of inky darkness to ravage the women and eat the children. One had whispered to her from the doorway, unable to get in and take her as a child because of the freshly slaughtered lamb in front of the door. He had whispered and whispered, little oily hisses slipping into her mind. He wanted her to go outside so he could eat her sweet flesh and break open her bones to suck out the rich marrow.
The man in front of her was not a man, he was not a wolf. He was a monster and he was going to kill her or worse and he was going to eat the children of the pack. She stared at him, her eye glowing slightly in the darkness and ignored his questions, watching him, making sure he wouldn't attack.
Sigh, Rose stopped posting for the night.
