It felt like ages since he had tasted fresh meat as he bit into a rabbit that Dalgina and Ovi had brought Temo. The fresh blood washed the stale taste that his earlier snack of dried and aged meat left in his mouth. He forced himself to eat slowly, not only to savor the taste, but because his stomach was not feeling happy at the moment with the sudden influx of food. Getting full before finishing the first carcass, he put the rest up for later and watched Dalgina as she puttered about cleaning this and that and general straightening up.

Days came and days went and pack life continued without the builder. And it seemed that it was only one of his children that had noticed that Temo had dropped off the face of the earth and had come to look for him. He spent the days in his shop. Sometimes he would stare out a window and wonder where everyone was and what they were doing and if they were ok. Other days, he would read through the few books that he had there. Although the depression was always present in his mind, he enjoyed the times that Dalgina and Ovi would visit and helped him forget the depression for a few moments. Occasionally he would query them on how the others were doing.
