[p] in this world it's hard to get it right

Skye looked down at her beautiful pups - pups were among the most beautiful things in the world, she thought. They were not as grand as a mountain, or as vibrant as a sunset, and yet they held more potential than all the grandiose things in the world. Her Ares reached out for something beyond his grasp, and Alyssum moved to touch him; Skye tensed, but imperceptibly, and relaxed only moments after. She did not perceive Alyssum as a threat, not now.

As Alyssum touched him and gasped at how soft he was, Ares attempted to wrap his paws around her finger, as if she were a lifeline that he could not let go of. He let out another cry, the tiny, innocent voice full of curiousity.

"He's brand new," she said, her voice laced with pride and adoration for her pups. She had had pups before, but they were not any more or less beautiful than the ones she held in her hands. Every pup of hers was beautiful, to her, and would be protected with the same fierceness that she protected her pack with.
