Just so you know, Anselm is actually only about 25% coyote, and the rest is wolf, so he shouldn't alarm her too much by appearances (although he definitely reeks of Inferni). XD

She seemed wary of him, but he couldn't blame her. He was obviously in his element, and although she wasn't lost, it didn't seem like she'd been up this way before. Beyond that, he'd now caught the faint scent of Iskata's pack--presumably she'd heard of the violence Inferni often got caught up in. It didn't seem like she recognised him in particular, though, so maybe it was still worth a shot. Nudging the kill forward slightly, he offered a winning smile and started to work on the belly of the young deer. When she spoke again he paused and offered a shrug. "It takes a little getting used to--this kind of terrain."
Yanking out some of the entrails and organs for himself, he backed away from the food so she'd feel more welcome to helping herself. He chomped down on the liver and managed to get it down in two or three easy bites. "So what are you doing way up here? I must admit it's kind of strange finding visitors out this way." He glanced up again, watching her with polite interest. And by that, he was running his eyes over every curve in her body, watching how the muscles moved beneath her coat, and every so often catching a sideways glimpse of her stunning azure eyes.
